What you may be dealing with

Which part of golf brings on your symptoms?

Symptoms during a backswing, after a bucket of range balls or on the last few holes provide different information. We ask about the timing, practice volume and positions that bother you.

01 /

Pain during or after a round

Back pain on the follow-through, an aching elbow after practice or a sore knee while walking the course.

02 /

A turn that feels restricted

Hip or upper-back stiffness makes rotating or settling into your setup harder.

03 /

Getting back to the course

You want to rebuild range time, walking and repeated swings after injury or surgery.

Conditions we help with

Golf-related problems we help with

These are common reasons golfers seek physical therapy. Your evaluation decides what applies to you.

Physical therapy addresses the physical factors affecting your ability to play. Swing instruction remains the role of your golf professional.

  • Low back pain
  • Hip pain and limited rotation
  • Shoulder pain
  • Golfer's and tennis elbow
  • Wrist pain
  • Knee pain on the course
  • Neck and upper back stiffness
  • Return to golf after surgery or injury

Our approach

A golf-informed process

We connect your symptoms and movement to turning, practicing and playing.

  1. 01

    Listen and examine

We review your symptoms, health history, playing habits and goals, then examine the areas limiting your game.

  2. 02

    Screen golf-related movement

Golf-specific screening adds a closer look at rotation, balance and control to your clinical evaluation.

  3. 03

    Build your plan

Targeted mobility, golf-related strength and a manageable practice schedule build toward your goals.

Rotation needs mobility, strength and repeatability

We look at hip and thoracic rotation in the context of turning, practicing and playing comfortably. Lower-back and shoulder motion, balance and strength also contribute to repeated swings.

Your plan may begin with shorter range sessions or nine holes before building toward 18. We adjust practice swings, range balls and walking volume as strength and tolerance improve.

Why Fulcrum

Why golfers choose Fulcrum

TPI-certified therapist

TPI stands for Titleist Performance Institute. Its golf movement screen offers a way to observe rotation, balance and control relevant to the game.

Screening connected to your goals

We connect golf movement findings to the symptoms and physical demands that matter to your practice and rounds.

More than stretching before tee time

Mobility where it matters, strength for repeated play, and control under gradually increasing demand.

One-on-one, with the physical therapist

A full hour with the same physical therapist for assessment, treatment and exercise.

Board-certified orthopedic expertise

Care from a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS).

Strength and performance-focused rehab

Progressive strength work is built into the plan, not added at the end.

A modern clinic and gym environment

Space to load, move and train as part of rehab.

Return to activity

What golfers want to return to

Golf is a walking, repeating, rotating sport, and rehab should prepare you for all of it.

  • Playing 18 holes comfortably
  • Practice sessions at the range
  • Walking the course
  • Turning with more confidence
  • Playing alongside your regular group
  • Returning after an injury at a sensible pace

Your plan builds toward the activities you choose, with progress reviewed along the way.

Good to know

Common questions.

Do I need to be an experienced golfer?

No. Whether you are new to golf, play on weekends, or practice regularly, care starts with your current abilities and the activities you want to return to.

What does a TPI screen look at?

It looks at rotation, balance and control in positions relevant to golf. We use those observations alongside your clinical exam to guide mobility and strength work.

What if I am not sure golf is causing my pain?

You do not need to know the cause before coming in. Your evaluation looks at your symptoms, movement and activity pattern to guide the next step.

Can I keep playing while I am in treatment?

Often, with changes such as reduced range-session volume or modified practice. We will advise based on your symptoms.

How do you plan my return to a full round?

We consider symptoms during and after play, walking tolerance and repeated swings. Shorter practice sessions or nine holes can be useful steps toward a full round.

Do I need a referral?

You can usually start with an evaluation without a referral under Florida's direct-access rules. Continuing care may require a referral, and insurance requirements vary; ask us about care requirements and your insurer about coverage.

How does payment work, and do you accept insurance?

We offer out-of-network and self-pay care, accept HSA/FSA cards, and bill Medicare directly. See our Insurance and Payment page for rates, superbills and plan-dependent reimbursement details.

How long are appointments?

Your evaluation and follow-up visits are full 60-minute, one-on-one sessions with the same physical therapist, with time for treatment, exercise and questions.
