What you may be dealing with
Stairs, getting up from the floor or a training session can reveal different challenges. We look at what hurts, what feels unstable and what you want to do again.
Pain at the bottom of a squat, or a pinch or catch when you load the knee deeply.
Pain that builds after a mile or two, or flares the day after a longer run.
Going down stairs or stepping off a curb is the thing that hurts most.
Cutting, pivoting or landing feels unstable or sore.
Stiffness and aching when you stand up after a long drive or workday.
The knee is out of the brace or cleared to move, but the leg is weaker than the other and you do not trust it.
Conditions we help with
Physical therapy plays a different role in each of these, from primary treatment to post-operative rebuilding.
We recommend imaging or a medical or surgical opinion when your findings call for it.
Our approach
We assess the knee itself, then consider hip and ankle motion, leg strength and recent changes in activity. These findings help distinguish a local knee problem from other contributing factors.
Knee, hip and ankle range, and whether any joint is forced to compensate.
Quad, hamstring, glute and calf strength, compared side to side where relevant.
How you squat, step down, land and change direction, and which tasks reproduce symptoms or reveal a strength or control deficit.
How much load, volume and speed the knee tolerates today, and a plan to raise it.
The stair climbing, running distance, lifting or work tasks your knee needs to tolerate.
Why Fulcrum
Resistance is adjusted to your current tolerance and progressed as appropriate, with attention to quadriceps, hamstrings, hips and calves.
Manual therapy and dry needling can be used to improve motion and comfort so you can train.
A full hour with the same physical therapist for assessment, treatment and exercise.
Care from a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS).
Progressive strength work is built into the plan, not added at the end.
Space to load, move and train as part of rehab.
Return to activity
Goals are set in the first visit and the plan is built toward them.
Your plan builds toward the activities you choose, with progress reviewed along the way.

The complimentary screen is not a comprehensive physical therapy evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment session.
Good to know
Not necessarily. Many knees do better with modified loading than complete rest. Your evaluation will identify what to keep, reduce or pause.
It can. For some meniscus and ligament injuries, building strength and motion beforehand supports recovery, and some problems improve without surgery. Your options depend on your exam and your surgeon's input.
Yes, if your surgeon has released you for rehab. Bring operative notes and any protocol. We coordinate your progression with the timeline and restrictions you were given.
Not to be evaluated. Imaging is not always needed, and we will tell you if your findings suggest you should see a physician for imaging.
Physical therapy does not reverse arthritis. Strength and movement work can help you manage symptoms and improve walking, stairs and daily activity.
You can usually start with an evaluation without a referral under Florida's direct-access rules. Continuing care may require a referral, and insurance requirements vary; ask us about care requirements and your insurer about coverage.
We offer out-of-network and self-pay care, accept HSA/FSA cards, and bill Medicare directly. See our Insurance and Payment page for rates, superbills and plan-dependent reimbursement details.
Your evaluation and follow-up visits are full 60-minute, one-on-one sessions with the same physical therapist, with time for treatment, exercise and questions.
