What you may be dealing with
A sore bench press, a stiff overhead reach and aching at night call for a closer look. We connect shoulder motion and strength to the activities you want back.
Pain reaching up, pressing overhead or putting things on a high shelf.
Bench press, push-ups or rows that feel pinchy or weak.
Serves, drives and throws that lose power or hurt.
Aching that wakes you or makes sleeping on that side impossible.
Tying a bra, reaching behind your back or getting a shirt on is difficult.
Conditions we help with
Shoulder rehabilitation often involves restoring motion, building strength and gradually returning to the activities that matter to you.
If your history or examination suggests that imaging or an orthopedic consultation may be appropriate, we'll help guide that next step.
Our approach
We examine shoulder motion and strength, and check the neck, upper back or nerves when the history and symptoms suggest they may contribute.
Shoulder, shoulder blade and thoracic spine motion during reaching and lifting.
Rotator cuff, scapular and trunk strength, and symptom response to load.
How easily the shoulder flares, which sets how quickly we progress.
The range, resistance and repetitions needed for your press, throw, serve, swing or work task.
Why Fulcrum
Pressing, pulling, serving and throwing guide the strength and movement work in your plan.
Neurodynamics training informs the assessment when shoulder-area symptoms may involve the neck or nerves.
A full hour with the same physical therapist for assessment, treatment and exercise.
Care from a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS).
Progressive strength work is built into the plan, not added at the end.
Space to load, move and train as part of rehab.
Return to activity
We track progress in the positions and repetitions your daily routine or sport requires, not just an isolated range-of-motion measure.
Your plan builds toward the activities you choose, with progress reviewed along the way.

The complimentary screen is not a comprehensive physical therapy evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment session.
Good to know
Often, with modified exercises. Lower-body training and tolerable upper-body work can help you stay active while we address the shoulder.
Not to be evaluated. Imaging is considered when your history and exam suggest it will change decisions, and we will tell you if so.
Not necessarily. Some tears are managed with rehab and others need repair. Night pain alone does not diagnose a tear. Your exam, symptoms and goals guide decisions, with a surgeon when needed.
Possibly just change it: grip, range, angle or load. We try to keep you training in a way the shoulder allows.
It is a common part of care, but recovery can be slow and varies. Expect a steady, consistent plan rather than a quick fix.
You can usually start with an evaluation without a referral under Florida's direct-access rules. Continuing care may require a referral, and insurance requirements vary; ask us about care requirements and your insurer about coverage.
We offer out-of-network and self-pay care, accept HSA/FSA cards, and bill Medicare directly. See our Insurance and Payment page for rates, superbills and plan-dependent reimbursement details.
Your evaluation and follow-up visits are full 60-minute, one-on-one sessions with the same physical therapist, with time for treatment, exercise and questions.
